I stumbled upon your website by accident but i would like to say how much your revision sites have helped my son understand his school work more. like a lot of year 6 children he is taking his sats this week and without your site i don't think he would be as confident as he is now. thank you woodlands for a brilliant site. i shall definitely tell friends who have children to visit you. good luck to all year 6 children across england who are doing sats this week. Linda
This is such an impressive school project. Your special dates calender is a really good resource, used by real-life journalists. I assume you have a very dedicated group of inspired teachers and some great kids -all of whom will have sparkling futures if they carry on with such zeal. Well done.

WOW!! This school community has produced an amazing educational site, showcasing students' work. They encourage children to operate as independent learners and thinkers and aim to inspire a love of learning in all. There is just so much wonderful work and ideas here, that you will have to go take a visit yourself. This is definitely one site NOT TO MISS!

Yet again I have found your website so useful. I have used it three times this week - using St George materials for my adult learners (ESOL); introduced the site to another adult education teacher (literacy); helping my son with his project work. Many many thanks, an inspirational site. Please keep it up.

WOODLANDS JUNIOR SCHOOL
is this week's top school.

It's website is colourful and fun, with some great features, including revision help, quizzes, and a special Maths Corner. There are also a whole host of interactive games - and don't forget to visit the school's virtual pet goldfish! WHSmith

Thank you VERY much! I was having a crisis of how to include ICT in my Maths lessons with no money for any resources and an OFSTED in 2 weeks!
Now I know exactly what I can do..visit your site with my special needs children who need everything multi sensory, just like your website!
Eternally grateful!
Cat
Your web site is an inspiration. Each week the children in my class are allowed to complete various activities on your web site, depending on the topic we are studying. It is so easy to use and they love the maths games!

After doing much research on British history -- from the Tudors to the Hanoverians -- I am impressed with the amount and quality of information contained on this site, information that is articulated in a concise and useful manner.

A lively site which immediately makes a visitor feel comfortable as, despite its massive amount of information, it is strongly organised so that navigation is easy and quick. There is a large amount of content with sections for parents, pupils, staff and others. The site is colourful and its good-size print makes it easy to read. It is obviously much used and is kept up-to date. A credit to the school and well worth a visit.
Dear Mandy Barrow and students at Woodlands Junior School
I thought you would be pleased to know that your website is being used here in Japan. I was a teacher in England until three years ago.then i came to live in Nagasaki where my husband is working. Recently I have started teaching
junior age students. I needed some information about the Union Jack. There it was on your web site. Thank You.
Best wishes

Woodland's Junior School, for children between the ages of seven and eleven, is located in the southeastern corner of England. The school's website is an outstanding example of a child-friendly portal to the Web's wonderful things.

Click on "Homework Help" to find over 100 links to sites on math, geography, religion, and more. Select "Science" and find more categories, like "Food Chain," "Water Cycle," and "Space." Keep clicking to find a carefully selected and briefly annotated collection of websites that are sure to engage and educate.

There's a section on "Educational Games," too, where you can find Flash and Java games to help you improve your memory, logic, math, literacy, and science skills, among others.

There are many "just for fun" games, too, as well as sections on Pokemon, cyber treasure hunts, book reviews, jokes and brain teasers, and lots more.

Don't miss the "Playground Games" area, where you can learn how English kids have fun at recess as well as take links to similar sites about kids in Australia, Thailand, and Japan.

There is also a fascinating guide to British life and culture, including a peek at a school lunch menu and recipes for traditional dishes such as "Bangers and Mash" and "Bubble and Squeak."

Congratulations!
Your site has been officially recognized as an About.com Class Act- school of the highest quality!
I'm flabbergasted. This website is absolutely fantastic.
I love the board, where you can get all the information that you need about England.
The virtual tour around the school is a must for foreign students. I shall take all my visitors at my website round this one.
I can only say --this is just great!! Well done and keep up the good work.
I will come here quite often now!
Thanks a lot,

I really enjoyed reading your articles on different English customs and used them in class already. It's very realistic and not the normal boring textbook information. And when I checked what else you offer on your website I am amazed how much work you have done at a junior school. Thank you for this wonderful work.

I just wanted to say well done for such a fantastic website. I work for a English language newspaper in Gran Canaria and have come across your website many times when I have been researching UK traditions. Keep up the good work. What a fabulous website.

I am a teacher of English as a Foreign Language students and my students come from all over the world. They have asked me to plan a short course for their afternoon lessons on British Culture - some history, geography, traditions and customs. Today I was surfing the net, looking for material to help me, when I came across your site. It was perfect - lots of interesting material and pictures. It gave me lots of ideas about what I can do and it also made sure that I checked up on my information.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading all about Britain and your page links and extra information instructions were superb for me - just what I needed. I would like to thank everyone who made the site so useful and interesting - I saw lots of pages with pupils' names on - so I know that lots of work will have gone into making such a large and super website. THANK YOU!!

I work in a primary school in Stockton- on-Tees as the senior supervisor at lunchtimes.
It is a l-o-n-g time since I was at school, so I started looking on the web to find some rhymes I could teach our children at lunchtimes.
I would like to congratulate your school on your brilliant website.
Well done, and keep up the good work.

As a teacher of English, I will certainly find your site very useful. It's easy to navigate, very clear and to the point. It's well designed and colourful. It will be appreciated as a valuable source of information by my pupils ( and myself )
Many thanks and congratulations.

Congratulations on an excellent website, showing creativity and a lot of hard work. I was impressed with the quality of the student's work on display but more so with the ease with which the web site allowed visitors to see what goes on in a 'typical' English school. I am a part time guest lecturer at a local college of Higher Education and feel that such an example of excellent use of ICT in a school is of value to training teachers as well as the students whose work is on show. Well done.

Dear Woodlands' Students:

I came across your website while researching some British sayings.  I am studying to be an ESL (English as a second language) teacher and embracing diversity by learning about other cultures is a big part of our curriculum.  The advent calendar that tells about other country's Christmas celebrations is terrific. The interactive links that take you to different sites with maps, time zones and other information is well done.
I just wanted to drop you a note to tell your website project is super and that all of your efforts are helping others learn about the world we all live in.  Thank you for being an inspiration to students and teachers, especially those like us who live in New Jersey in America.  We applaud you!

Cordially,

Nancy E. Bragg
We've been visiting your site for just over a year and have never been disappointed. You always seem to have something new or at least unseen by us. How do you do it? You are BRILLIANT.
I dont think any of the children here in our tiny school in remotest Cornwall have ever signed your book so I thought I'd do it on their behalf. Thank-you all. Oh and why did I visit tonight... well I wanted to check details about Mothering Sunday and guess where Google sent me!!!
I just wanted to say thank y'all for helping me out! I've had this HUGE project on England to do and I couldn't find any information on their customs. I just wanted to say thanks and this is an awesome site! Thanks for all your hard work! It really helped! You really did what you were trying to do. Well I hope I do good on project and thanks for the information!! Keep up the good work! Love always,
Hilary, from Texas
Dear Woodlands
Congratulations on your website which I came across while looking for information about ST.GEORGE'S DAY.  I enjoyed your website very much and in view of the fact that I am a relative newcomer to IT (just celebrated my 80th birthday) I found it remarkably easy to navigate.  All my life I have, in my own simple way, celebrated St.George's Day, and try to encourage others to do so too.  We are still a great country and I hope that your school, staff and students, will join forces and announce to the world  that St.George of England is well worth celebrating.  Show your flag and be proud of it.
All good wishes Pauline Shute, Bethersden, Ashford,Kent
Hi there, my name is Peita Budiasa and I live on the Gold Coast in Australia, I just wanted to email you and say what a terrific website you have for children.

My child has recently had to do a school project on religion, she chose Buddhism as we tend to practise the philosphies and beliefs at home.  I have lots of books, but helping her work through them and to get the answers simply to the questions was a challenge.  We discovered your website, wow it was great, it helped her so much gave her a clear understanding, and helped me with my understanding also.  Religions of the world fascinate me and I look forward to reading about all the others you have on your website, I will tell her teacher to look you up.  We were very lucky to come across
your site.

Good on you what a great service and education you provide

Kind regards

Peita
Just a note to say how valued your website is.  I teach year 2 children near Farnham in Surrey.  With some support they have really enjoyed using your site and have learned alot.  It is great to have clear information pitched at a readable and understandable level.  I hope your bosses realise what a super resource it is and give your excellent work the recognition it deserves!  Best wishes

Dear Woodlands
Just a word of thanks. I was searching the web for thoughts on Ash Wednesday prior to the preparing of an evening of prayer and meditation for next Wednesday. I am a lay person at St Mary's CHurch in Albrighton and will be leading the service. We hold non-liturgical services in the week.

Your summary is excellent and I think gives a wonderfully clear explanation, especially for those who are not too familiar with church tradition and its' basis.

It was very helpful in keeping a focus on a simple and accurate format.

Well done and thank you, and what a grest website!

Kind regards

A Review by Sarah Wedlake

www.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/Homework/index.html:
It allows children to get homework help in any subject, it allows them to play any kind of games that they want to play, and it gives book reviews especially for children. I think that as a teacher I would incorporate this site into my web page to let parents know where their children could go to have fun while learning. This is an amazing site that helps children in all subjects.

Dear Woodlands
Can I just say how fantastic and informative your website is. Its section on traditional English customs is a real breath of fresh air. My son who is 6, yesterday brought home his school report (Grayswood Infants) In it his teacher was pleased at his understanding of and participation in Ramayana, and also of 'important Jewish festival's. All well and fine but his teacher seems reluctant to introduce them to anything remotely 'English'. Today I have come to work angry at this state of affairs and decided to look up on the web, information relating to some traditional English events. Your school site has provided me with that information and has set my mind at ease.
Please keep up the good work.
Regards

Richard

Hello Woodlands,

I’m a primary school teacher but living in Venezuela teaching English at the moment to kids, teenagers (and some adults)…. I’m always looking for some fun stuff about life in Britain and I think your site is absolutely fantastic.  I’ve tried many others for information but always come back to yours as it’s the best - the easiest to use, my students can understand it and you’ve got information and facts on hundreds of different topics.

Well done …. Please keep it up…it’s brilliant!

Catherine
