From Source to Sea

Inglesham is the site of a lost village where only the 11th century church and a farm remains. The redundant church on a mound was saved from over-restoration in the 19th century by William Morris, who loved its simplicity and box pews.

Traces of wall paintings cover most of the walls. These date from the 13th to the early 19th centuries, often with one painted over another, in places seven layers thick.
